Meknes is in northern Morocco. Locatred 119 kms east from Rabat and 244 kms from Casablanca. Famous for its imperial past the city has an impressive gate with mosaic tiles and arches called Bab Mansour. The name comes from the architect El-Mansour.
The top attraction of Meknes is course the Medina. The market may have less stalls than other major medinas, however it has a friendlier atmosphere. More for locals than tourists, use the medina. There are plenty of small restaurants to try here too. However, it does get busier in the evening.
