Santa Cruz del Islote is an artificial island located off the coast of Colombia, close to Tolu and Coveñas. It is a part of the Archipelago of San Bernardo.
Built by local fishermen around 1870. They used coral, debris, stone to build up the land at low tide. The island also includes a restaurant, a disco, a couple grocery stores along with other attractions. An increasing number of locals are now working on the nearby islands Mucura, at luxury resorts or restaurants.
Isla Mucura
To travel to Isla Mucura, take a boat from Cartagena, Tolú or Rincón del Mar. The boat leaves Cartagena and from the Tolú port daily at 08.30, weather permitting, of course.
