Highlights of Capri

As a solo traveller visiting Capri, the island offers a delightful mix of natural beauty, history, and relaxation, making it a perfect destination to explore independently.

Exploring Capri Town: Upon arriving in Capri Town (or Capri Town Centre), solo travellers will find themselves amidst charming narrow streets lined with boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants. It’s a great place to wander and absorb the local atmosphere. Don’t miss the iconic Piazzetta, a bustling square where locals and tourists converge. It’s a perfect spot for people-watching while sipping on a coffee or enjoying a gelato.

Villa Jovis: For history enthusiasts, a visit to Villa Jovis is a must. This Roman palace, perched on the cliffs of the island, offers stunning views of the Gulf of Naples. The ruins are fascinating to explore, offering insight into the ancient Roman imperial lifestyle and architecture.

Natural Beauty: Capri is renowned for its natural beauty, and there are several spots travellers should not miss. The Gardens of Augustus provide breathtaking views of the Faraglioni rock formations and the Mediterranean Sea. The tranquil atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and take in the scenery.

Boat Tour around the Island: One of the best ways to experience Capri is from the water. You can join a boat tour that circumnavigates the island, allowing them to see its rugged coastline, hidden caves (like the famous Blue Grotto), and picturesque cliffs from a unique perspective. Many tours also offer opportunities for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters.

Monte Solaro: For those who enjoy hiking or a scenic chairlift ride, Monte Solaro offers panoramic views from the island’s highest point. The journey to the summit is rewarding, providing solitude and a chance to connect with Capri’s natural landscapes.

Anacapri: Just a short bus or taxi ride from Capri Town is Anacapri, a quieter and more laid-back town nestled in the hills. Here, solo travelers can visit Villa San Michele, the former home of Swedish writer Axel Munthe, which boasts beautiful gardens and sweeping views of the island.

Local Cuisine: Capri is known for its delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Indulge in local specialties such as fresh seafood, Caprese salad (mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil), and limoncello (a lemon liqueur). Dining at a seaside restaurant or a family-run trattoria provides an authentic taste of Capri’s culinary delights.

No matter your chosen adventure in Capri, it promises to be an unparalleled and unforgettable experience with a Guides4me guide. They’ll not only take care of you throughout the journey but also become your newfound best friend by the trip’s end. Your time in Capri is more than just a tour – it’s a chance to forge a lasting connection and create memories that will last a lifetime with your dedicated Guides4me companion.
