Highlights of Madrid

The Spanish capital comes alive at night. Don’t ever think of eating at a restaurant before 10pm, this is when the locals go out after their siesta.

The main square is the Plaza Mayor, look out for the old bakery with the design of the white cats. These cats represent the people of Madrid who are nocturnal creatures.

On Sunday’s don’t forget to check out El Rastro, the flea market. You can buy almost anything here. Located in La Latina. A traditional quarter where you can enjoy tapas and a san Miguel beer.

If you love art, then museums such as El Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Sorolla Museum will not disappoint you.

For football lovers, then the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is a must visit. With seating capacity of over 81,000. Indeed, the stadium is the second largest in Spain and has been the home stadium of Real Madrid since 1947.
